The Puma armored infantry combat vehicle was developed by PSM (Projekt System & Management) in Germany. It was developed in the later half of the 1980s, but due to financial difficulties brought on by the unification of East and West Germany and the collapse of the Soviet Union, its deployment was delayed until the 21st century, and redesign and production of the Puma began in earnest in the 2000s.
